August 22 (Thursday)
Kayak Tour: Birds of Great Salt Lake. Join park staff for an evening
kayak tour from 6 pm to 8:30 pm and discover some of the wonders of
this amazing lake, including the millions of birds that come through
here each year to nest, rest and fuel up for their autumn migration.
Space is limited and registration is required. Register online at
antelopeisland.utah.gov. Kayak rentals are available from Gonzo Boat

Frary homestead and Mulberry history hike: Join the ranch curator at
10:00 a.m. at mile marker 8 parking lot for a moderate 4 mile hike of
the Frary Homestead and Mulberry Grove discussing the island’s history
that surrounds this trail. Space is limited so please contact Clay at

August 24  (Saturday)
Fielding Garr Birthday Celebration: Come and join in the fun
celebrating Fielding Garr’s 219 birthday which is on August 19th with
guided tours of the Fielding Garr Ranch from 1-4:00 pm. pioneer games
from 2:00-4:00pm and a lecture on Fielding Garr at 4:00pm and wool
processing demonstrations by the Northern Utah Fiber Arts Guild from

Cowboy Poetry Series: Come and join us from 4:00- 5:00 p.m. for a fun
filled experience with our Cowboy Poetry Series. Featured poet is Stan

August 30 (Friday)
Constellation Hike: White Rock Bay. Dark skies are becoming harder and
harder to find. Join the Park Naturalist for a guided hike from 8 pm
to 10:30 pm to one of the darkest areas of Antelope Island. Meet at
the White Rock Bay Trailhead for a 3 ½-mile round trip hike to
discover and learn about some of the many constellations in our night
sky, and ways we can keep our skies dark. Entrance fees apply. For

August 31 (Saturday)
Older Than the Stars: Geology of Antelope Island. Meet with us at 10
am in the park visitor center for a program on the Island’s geology.
We will spend some time inside, and then venture out into the park to

September 7 (Saturday)
How They Worked Junior Ranger Program: Come and join us for a fun
filled experience learning about how the people of Antelope Island
worked at 1:00pm at the historic Fielding Garr Ranch on Antelope
Island State Park. Though this informative Junior Ranger program is
geared for ages 6-12 people of all ages are welcome. For more

September 7 (Saturday)

Frary Homestead Lecture: Come and join us at 1:00pm for an informative
lecture on the history of The Frary homestead. Meet at the Frary
homestead turnoff. Maps will be given at the Antelope Island entrance
station. There will be a mile hike associated with this tour. For more

September 14 (Saturday)
Star Party. Join members of the Ogden Astronomical Society in White
Rock Bay as they set up telescopes for deep space viewing. Learn about
globular clusters, nebulae, galaxies and more. Beginning at 6:30 pm
solar scopes will be set  up for viewing the sun. Sunset is at 7:40
pm. Entrance fees apply. If you bring a flashlight, please have a red

September 21 (Saturday)
Where the Buffalo Roam, Life on Antelope Island Lecture: Come and join
us at 2:00 pm for stories of a boy growing up on Antelope Island by

Daddy Stump History Hike: Join the ranch curator at 1:00p.m. at the
